Eva Dance

... Don't ask.
This was a late late night impromptu animation to relieve stress at that time. Didn't bother finishing it, though I kinda like it as is.

"Neigh Means No" Board Revisions

These panels were part of the short film I was working on during Sheridan student group film. Found these while poking through old files. We had divided portions of the story within ourselves, and did a rough pass. The story beats for the first half were already worked out by my teammates, so I took it and gave another pass through, adding more acting poses, and hooked it up to the last half which I was in charge of.

Its the story of teenage romance, growing pains, and the virginity unicorn who protest all innocence.(He might also just be a goat) You can watch the film here.(We were so noob)

Moa Recovery

I think I’m able to make better gifs now, that’s why this guy is happy.
This was a fun challenge, figuring out how to get an armless robot upright and ready to fight quickly! Also this is using the very old Moa model cuz I was a little too lazy to update it.

Animated by me, models and characters owned by Digital Extremes

Kubrow Growl State and Attacks

Some growl states and attacks, which got used for the Raksa breeds in game. I just did the animations =)

Kubrow Awaken

I’m going to start sharing some of the animation work I’ve done on Warframe. Here’s a first one to test out if I want these to be videos or gifs; in-game animations for when you wake your kubrow for the first time
I’ve only done the animations, all characters and models belong to Digital Extremes

New Reels

Hi guys,
just an update. I got some new reels up on my animation page. And got rid of some old ones. The one i REALLY want to show is my updated 3D reel, but there are some unreleased stuff on there, so I have to password protect it...for now. Til then, enjoy =)

*Update: My 3D reel is unlocked now and free to be shown to the world! =)

Some of the animation I did for Digital Extremes' Open Beta Trailer for 'Warframe'

The final product only had a portion of the animation, and it was based off motion capture data. I had to change many of the poses and actions, to make it look cooler, as well as adding the recoil and pseudo gun flares haha.
Warframe, Loki and gun models belong to Digital Extremes Ltd

Time Travel!

What?! Its been more than a year?!
Sorry for not updating, and there really isn't any excuse. I mean, I didn't even post my film here! What?
The past year for me have been a whirlwind of events and experiences, and I guess I got caught up in life (and other media outlets?)

I will be updating a reel soon, and i'm quite excited to show what I've been fortunate to have worked on, but for now, i should REALLY send a link to my film. Should have done this long ago. All this time, it just never occurred to me that my blog and Vimeo account were never linked!

My thesis film from Sheridan. Traditionally animated by me in Flash. Big thanks again to Dani Gosselin, Margaret Perrie and Kaitlin Sutherland, real talented ladies who helped me colour my animation! As well as everyone back in Sheridan who helped me shape this film one way or another =)

Another gif

Another animated gif, part of a scene from my film. Click on it to play. (Is there a way of attaching to allow it to play without having to click on it?)

Action Analysis

Whew, I was worried the video wouldn't show up on the blog. Ah I still want to fix up some things on my action analysis, but the school is closed for a week, and I would rather finish it up on the same computers and such. I chose to cut away some of the story, to finish it and make it look more cohesive for submission, so I will have to add the rest when the labs open up again. So for now, here's the version I handed in at the end of the semester.

*EDIT*

Here's the updated version, with some minor fixes.

Animation!

Some of the animation I've done in and outside of school.

Oh no its over again

Hi. So with the end of this week marks the end of my 2nd year in Sheridan. Too fast! Soon it'll be group film then final film time. The first video is the muzzle assignment which I also cleanuped for the cleanup assignment. Clean ups needed only be for 3 seconds of the animation, so I am considering finishing it over the summer. The dialougue is from Ella Enchanted, the scene on the river bank I think?

The other video is part of the huge layout assignment we had. Maybe I'll post in the painting for it as well, to add some variety to this blog.

Pushin it

Human sync assignment. I tried pushing the drawings, and tested out smearing for this assigment. I think some of them worked, some not so much. I'm feeling more satisfied with this one, mainly because I got the opportunity to concentrate on this for a good 3 days without other assignments bugging me down. I think I will revisit this one again in the summer, and add in the bully and additional stuff in front, which I originally wanted.

Omg its an update!

haha, more animations.

Is it over yet?

Here's a couple of animation assignments from school. I liked how the weight lift turned out, even though there's a few things i would like to fix. I thought there'd be time to fix that during the 1 week break, but there's another 6 assignments due when school starts again. Like boot camp all over again.

One more for the road

First year of Sheridan College is done. 3 more now. It went by so fast, i barely had time to breathe. Looking back, i guess there has been a little improvement. Not as much as I wanted, but perhaps these things cannot be forced.

Half of me is looking forward to going back to Singapore, but at the same time I want to stay here, but what I would do in Oakville the next 3 months I have no idea.

Above is the last animation assignment. For now, I will feel a little content that I did this in one fairly straightforward. But even now as I watch it more, all these faults fly out at me screaming to be fixed.

Bernard

So i'm finally posting something after all this time. This is probably the one of the few assignments I feel good about. Those ears are impossible to do draw consistently. Will post up some more stuff as soon I get them scanned.

So after a semester and half, I still can't believe I'm here. I can't comprehend the amount of talent the other students in Sheridan have. I gotta be honest and say its downright intimidating. But on the other hand, its a wonderful place to learn. Getting to know what my classmates can do is making me excited for 3rd year group film. Its like NYP all over again. I just wish there were more grouped projects, like the old days.

edit: yea i just realised there's this huge jumping line in the back view during the rotation. BAH, got too distracted by the ears I didn't notice that. I'll fix it when i get it back -_-
